German Potato Dumplings Recipe (Potato Balls) - Kartoffelkloesse

The word "Kartoffelkloesse" in German means "Potato Dumplings" in english.. A very popular delicious traditional dish served in Germany especially in the Southern parts of Germany.

These potato balls pair well as a side dish with beef stew or roast turkey and chicken, add gravy sauce on them with a little bacon bits and you got yourself a tasty dish.

Unlike mashed potatoes German Potato dumplings are made with cooked potatoes, cheese, flour and eggs. Then the potatoes are mashed with the rest of the ingredients and formed into a ball with bread crumbs placed inside the dumpling then boiled..
