Mulled Wine (German Hot Wine Recipe)

Mulled Wine for Germans is like eggnog for Americans.. It's their Christmas Punch. Although the hot wine drink is traditionally served during the Holidays,

The German culture has adopted it as a social drink as well by serving it in select restaurants, markets, and stalls across Germany including countries like Sweden, Norwegian, Finland, and Denmark.

Mulled Wine in Germany has been coined to be the "Heart Warming Holiday Drink" due to their harsh winters during Christmas. In Germany they call it "Gl├╝hwein" (Glow Wine).

Hot Wine is usually served as an "apperitivo" or appetizer to open your appetite for the food to come. It is also served after dessert, people love to get cozy with mulled wine especially on cold days.
